Pine Tree Varieties

Posted on March 10, 2010.
Pine Tree VarietiesThen a tree to survive completely submerged in water (common varieties such as pine or oak)? If yes, for how long?

Only trees that are naturally adapted to immersion in water throughout the year is going to survive this condition, if the temporary immersion (for example during a flood) does not seem to harm most trees . So for common varieties are normally found in dry habitats, no. For trees whose natural habitat is a swamp (American bald cypress, for example), they not only survive but thrive with water surrounding them, since it is the environment in which they have adapted to grow, over thousands of years.

I do not know how long he survived, but allot of trees were included in the water when the Corps of Engineers built a lake back home, we could see trees just beneath the water that remained green for years. but after the lake reached the brim, we couldnt see I think the sunlight was stolen from them in the deep waters offshore and they are dead ..
