Hanukkah Candles

Hanukkah CandlesHanukkah candles?

Where can I buy candles of Hanukkah, near San Antonio TX? I live in Converse, and so far have not been able to find. I had enough for the first 2 nights, but that's all. I thought it would be easy. It is not. It is difficult to find anything Jewish here.

If you do not find the right candle business, do not be afraid. You only need the appropriate number of lights, all lined in a row and the level (with the Shamash, "whatever you use to light the others, be offset by higher or lower - in general it has a special place on the menorah). You can buy tea lights. Anything that will burn for at least a half hour after sunset. For example, candles are extinguished, but tealights, candles the size of your standard candles Shabbat candles, beeswax, none of these things would be acceptable. In fact, the ideal light for Hanukkah is olive oil, because the miracle of Hanukkah originally involved olive oil.

I am surprised that you were not able to find, though. San Antonio has a small religious community, is not it? If you have a guy at Chabad there (I think you do), I bet you give them candles (and probably even menorahs) away to people who need them. Or view the entire synagogue for this question. Or the ethnic foods section of your local supermarket (where they, like those candles Catholic saints painted on them, alongside Japanese noodles, next to matzo and gefilte fish), could possibly sell.

Here, I even found your local Chabad - in contact with them and I am sure they would be happy to assist you with your needs in Jewish Hanukkah and all things http://www.chabadsa.com/

I hope this helps, and happy Hanukkah!

Sometimes, the synagogues have a gift shop.

In addition, most grocery stores carry them in sections of festivals.

Believe it or not in the grocery store.try isle.or international food ask an employee!

try, as a mark of target path Acme Rite store and CV or simply go to the srore dollar and buy small candles that match the menorah

If there is a Long, then, go long.

You can actually consider using olive oil. This is actually the preferred method, and you can find pure, extra virgin olive oil everywhere. You can use pieces of cotton, wicks, and (not plastic) glasses, cups, whatever, to hold it. Make sure you put a little water at the bottom so it does not break the glass.

try going to Michaels craft store, they have a small section of things Hannukah each year. I think they r on clearance now, so theres not say if they still have em in stock, but it's worth trying.
