Granite Markers

Posted on February 24, 2010.
Granite MarkersDoes anyone know how to remove the granite marker names without cutting "out?

We have a name that must be removed from a terminal Veterans Memorial. It is gray granite, the name is black. We do not want it carved or blown. Is there another way to remove the name or the cover so it will not be so obvious?

I do not know the name of the material, but there is a composite load that you can mix in any color and use it to fill holes in the granite. It should fill the lettering and the smoothing level. Sorry, I do not remember the name of this product, but perhaps someone else can provide it for you, or wholesalers of granite contact and see if they know what I mean. May God bless you, Martha S.

Could you try to fill it with cement, then sanding? The color would probably not match well and it would look like a patch job. If you want it to look like he should hire a professional to do it.

Have you tried to contact a company of granite?

You can get a bronze, wrought iron or mixed metal and screwed plaquard made to conceal the name. We did something similar and had a very nice network put the plaquard so it does not seem misplaced.
