Thank you
Gingerbread for houses or MOLD COOKIES
1 ¼ cup butter at room temperature
1 cup sugar ¼
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon
4 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon salt ¼
4 teaspoons cinnamon
Ginger 1 c. Tea
1 clove c. Tea
3 teaspoons nutmeg
Mix butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and lemon extract. Cream well until smooth.
Sift together flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg. Add to butter mixture and mix until smooth, adding more flour if necessary to form a paste which is almost firm and slightly sticky.
Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate until cool and thickened.
Roll and cut. Use the dough pieces to form and press the decorative details. Bake at 350 degrees until brown underneath and slightly pale on top.
Note: Three times this recipe makes enough for 21 large men gingerbread (3 / 8 inch thick) with enough dough left for decorations. If you make a gingerbread house, drive a little bit thicker for added strength. Extra dough freezes very well.
