Coffins And Caskets

Posted on February 8, 2010.
Coffins And CasketsWhy America Coffins / caskets in different European style Coffins?

I noticed that modern American coffins are rectangular with curved cover, while European models are angular, tapering at both low and high shoulders usually provided with a flat lid. In the old America West photos, they seem to use the European style. Any ideas why the change in America? I can not find even the manufacturers of coffins European style in the United States.
Are there different styles of these two mainly used in other regions?

They used to be like those of Europe. It's the kind I like, instead of one of the coffins of dollars gizzillion United States.

Interesting. Have you done a comparison of models today? Maybe there is not much difference today. Eastern Europe may still be old-style boxes.
The old style uses material much less, takes less space and can be easily constructed by hand.

because Americans are willing to buy and bury titanium, ceramic lined, hermetically sealed, silk upholstery, in addition to boxes filled with corpses - oh yes with viewing windows???
