Build Your Own Coffin

Posted on February 24, 2010.
Build Your Own Coffin Can you build your own coffin for burial when they die?

All right. It is a question really wild for me to even ask, but I must know.

My mother said that when she dies she wants to be housed in her house and she wants my dad to build her coffin. She does not want anything. She wants a simple pine coffin. Then I would try to make his wishes a reality, I do not think she lives in reality. Well, actually, I know she does not live in reality.

Firstly, my father will be in mourning over his death, so why would she think he wants to build his coffin? On the other hand, are not there laws against building your own coffin? Are there standards of state?

Secondly, can someone be coming to their home instead of a funeral home? Everything seems morbid to me and I'm really comfortable with the whole thought.

Please answer the questions to the best of your knowledge please. I already know that my mother is unbalanced, so I just need some advice. Thank you pour votre aide.

I do not think there are laws against this ...
If your father is a carpenter, I think it's a decent idea for a tribute to her. Why does he build it now and store it until time to use it?
And yes - in some cultures, you are put in the house (Hispanics to do). What Part do not like ...

How does your father feel about the construction of the coffin?

I do not know exactly, I suppose there are government regulations on this subject, but I have friends who have lost two babies .. both around 6 months of pregnancy, and her husband have built coffins for them and what they have been buried.

I do not know why he could not build it.I do not know all the laws that prevent him.But is something that u should not be about. For worry all u know your mother is crazy your father and it is sarcastic. If your really worried u should then be talking to your father on the chance this.Good

Most of us feel uncomfortable about death, although it is inevitable. But planning a significant internment and the service is a great way to honor life. Want to know how to bring the rich culture and traditions of the family of funeral and mourning? You do NOT have to do the funeral home tells you (and the amount of money you spend has nothing to do with how much love and respect you have). Find information on the construction of a coffin, cemeteries and green planning an internment here.
