But if you could run off batteries you can put them anywhere an outlet is not available - like on a bike.
The kind of electricity you get from the wall is called AC, and the type of batteries you get is called DC. You have three options to run the Christmas lights outside DC (battery): option you choose, it is important that you use LED Christmas because they use electricity 90-98% less than standard bulbs, so your batteries last longer. Many more, like 16 times longer. Instead of 15 minutes with incandescent lamps, you can get four hours with LEDs. I ran a test with a big battery and got only two hours on a 20-bulb strand of lights from the old school, and 31 hours with a massive 20-part LED bulb. Dude / dudette, the use of LEDs. When I wrote this page a few years ago, LED Christmas were rare, and there was no doubt large battery cable, so I was sharing two big secrets: one, you want LEDs for battery life, and two, how to ReWire battery drain. But now you can buy a shelf solution without having to rewire everything, as indicated in the yellow box on the left: the lights, battery and charger. The only thing I added was some extra connectors on the ends of the son for allowing me to easily "plug" the battery to fire or charger. This is a 2200mAh battery and I get 31 hours of execution (!)
