Ok, here's the deal. For Christmas, I have a big star that I made last year in light of rope and flashing lights that I put on the mast (mast), which holds my weather station. LEDs are DC only. You can put a diode in series with the AC. But check the voltage of the AC.

You can run a separate DC supply.
